Pole Creek Meadows is a Firewise USA recognized community. Firewise USA is a national recognition program from National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Firewise USA provides a collaborative framework to help neighbors get organized and take action to reduce wildfire risks within their community.
The PCM forestry committee is a group of volunteer neighborhood residents, whose goals are to
· Organize and plan neighborhood volunteer action and education on wildfire mitigation to maintain PCM community Firewise USA designation.
· Provide information and guidance to PCM property owners on mitigating the risk and impact of a potential wildfire on their property.
· Assess compliance with PCM requirements for wildfire mitigation.
· Plan and organize tree and shrub maintenance of PCM open space to mitigate the risk and impact of a potential wildfire.
The PCM forestry committee coordinates annual activities to support property owners with wildfire property mitigation projects. Examples include a Forestry Newsletter, a community curbside chipping day and volunteer Work Day to help maintain our open spaces.
If you are interested in volunteering with the Forestry committee, please contact the PCM HOA at admin@polecreekmeadows.com.
